Pop Free is born out of the Orange County and LA music scenes—formed by close friends with deep roots in local DIY bands. With members having played in a range of punk, indie, and emo-adjacent projects, Pop Free brings together a sound that’s equally dynamic and emotionally grounded. The band draws inspiration from local legends like No Knife, alongside formative influences like At The Drive-In, Fugazi, and Jimmy Eat World. Their debut EP Spring reflects years of musical evolution and a focused vision—energetic, contemplative, and undeniably their own.
Spring captures a moment in time marked by transformation—songs that explore the highs and lows of love, friendship, ambition, and change. The EP reflects the band’s unique blend of melody and abrasion, combining emotionally raw lyricism with driving instrumentation. It's music that’s as cathartic as it is catchy—personal, energetic, and rooted in the bittersweet feeling of growing older and moving forward.
